Classic Retro Elegance and style best define the newly contrived R-20 by EVTAMERICA, which also started selling for the first time in the USA at the end of 2007. There is an exciting but limited color selection to choose from. The R-20 only comes in Black, Red, or Silver. These three colors are the classical colors of Ferrari, Mercedes Benz and Lamborghini. Z-20b

The creation of the Z-20b was a carefully studied decision to incorporate a much better designed electric motorcycle that rationally stores the complex array of parts and wires comfortably and safely while bringing a new electrifying look to the vehicle. So successful has this model proved to be equally technically and functionally that EVTAMERICA has decided to have this model replace the Z-20a in the next generation production. From all perspectives the use of this model as the only Z-20 that will be built in the future responds to both technical as well as functional considerations. The Z-20b provides an excellent driving experience to the driver because of weight displacement and other riding subtleties. The rational disposition of the interior; harness, parts, motor, controller and batteries translate into easier maintenance and warranted reliability.

Z-20a

Having made its appearance in the US Market at the end of 2007 after numerous transformations and noteworthy innovations, EVTAMERICA proudly presented the Z-20a, a State of the Art two-wheeled All Electric motorcycle. This electric vehicle, manufactured by EVTAMERICA, powered by a 2500-watt 60-volt brushless hub motor, is capable of reaching a speed of approximately 45 miles per hour (equivalent to 72 kilometers per hour)*. ABOUT THE EVTAMERICA ELECTRIC VEHICLES
The implementation of the unique 48-Volt Direct Drive Hub Motor in conjunction with the Intelligent System Controller has allowed the creation of an entirely electric motor-driven cycle and motorcycle. The distinctiveness of the hub motor is the fact that the motor lies within the perimeter of the tire encased in the rear rim of the vehicle. The inimitability of this peculiarity allows for unsurpassed efficiency and does away with the use of belts or chains to make the axle rotate. The motor rotates the axle of the rear wheel from within the center of it own gravitation. The hub motor is not only highly efficient, but almost totally silent in its function.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is responsible for improving safety on the Nation's highways. As part of these responsibilities, NHTSA establishes and enforces Federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS) which specify minimum levels of safety performance for motor vehicles. A part of this enforcement program is the monitoring of vehicles manufactured, sold, or imported into the United States to ensure that they comply with applicable FMVSS. There are two basic category definitions for two and three wheeled motor vehicles;

NHTSA DEFINITION

• MOTORCYCLE
is defined as a motor vehicle with motive power having a seat or saddle for the use of the rider and designed to travel on not more than three wheels in contact with the ground.

• MOTOR-DRIVEN CYCLE
is defined as a motorcycle with a motor that produces 5-brake horsepower or less. NHTSA Office of Chief counsel has determined that mopeds and motor-driven bicycles fall into this category.

CAVEAT
It is important to forewarn that States within the Unites States of America may have State laws and or regulations that govern further the sale and or use of motorcycles and motor-driven cycles. It is important for potential buyers to inquire from local government prior to purchasing if additional regulations exist that override Federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS) as defined and legislated by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and what is required to overcome these issues.

The potential buyer must have a clear understanding or what are the requirements in their individual State to legally register a motorcycle or motor-driven cycle that complies with Federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS) as defined and legislated by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

FURTHER DEFINITION BY EVTAMERICA
In order to avoid future confusion we would like to make clear the reason why we chose to call the Z-20 a Scooter and not a motorcycle on our Website. For the purpose of certification (the process of making a vehicle street legal by meeting Federal DOT Safety Standards) we should refer to the 'Z-20' as a motorcycle.

However, we have continued to call them Scooters (at least for now) primarily because on a classic motorcycle the rider straddles the seat, which is called the saddle, whereas on a Scooter the rider sits much as on a chair, with both knees together in front of the seat. This position would be impossible to assume on a "true" motorcycle. Having said that, at least in the USA, there is no difference based on this characteristic and both are considered motorcycles. The motorcycle category is assigned primarily because of speed and horsepower not on the seating arrangement. So be it.
